His Outfit Standing on the Truth of God's Word in the Livestock Show and Rodeo Arenas "For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills" Psalm 50:10 God makes it very clear in the verse above that all the animals, which He created, belong to Him. Don’t forget; He called the cattle and all the bests of the earth "good" on day six of creation week. This was the same day He chose to make man in His image. God then took Adam and "put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it" (Genesis 2:15). Adam worked in the garden prior to his sin which cursed all of creation and sentenced man to the law that sin equals death. Agriculture and the agricultural lifestyle of caring for God’s animals and keeping the land is divinely inspired. I find it not so surprising that the man God chose as Israel's first king and the patriarch of the Messianic line cared for his father herds. Before David could lead and care for God's people David led and cared for God's creation. David was a Cowboy. The life that those of us blessed to live in the country raising and caring for animals is precious and we owe God a great deal of thanks that He has allowed us to do so. We get to witness His miracles every day, from the awesome wonder of the sun rising over the fields and pastures to the miracle of a new born calf or foal taking their first breath. Not only do we get to walk with God in this garden, but we should truly understand what it means to totally rely on Him for everything. Most of us living "out here" don’t rely on the government to provide for us. We rely on God for everything from the rain to our livestock being fruitful and multiplying People that live an urban lifestyle miss being a first hand witness to God’s moment by moment miracles that we see all around us. Many only see the world that is made by man's hand and in man’s image. I guess it makes sense there seems to be a growing divide between our culture and theirs. Be thankful for the many blessings of this way of life and please take full advantage of the opportunities provided by livestock shows and other events to exhibit the creatures that God has entrusted to you and use those opportunities to shine God's light into a culture that can't see Him.
